More than 100 years of history in the heart of the peninsula of Saint-Tropez.
What a great year 1900: remember, this is the year where we saw the first flying zeppelin, the year of circulation of the Paris metro, birth the poet Jacques Prévert … and that is that year that Domaine La Rouillère was created.
The name “Rouillère” comes from the river that flows in the middle of this property and that once was very ferruginous.
The property covers almost 120 hectares , straddling the charming towns of Gassin and Ramatuelle,
in the heart of the peninsula of Saint-Tropez .
Among the rolling hills of forests and rivers, 45 hectares are devoted to the breeding of grapes in the highest respect of traditions and sustainable agriculture. In 1998, Magali and LETARTRE Bertrand, who, as they like to say,
have “awakened the sleeping beauty” by becoming the proud and passionate owners of the estate.
A wind then blew on the Rouillère: together they created a very fair marriage between tradition and innovation.
As such, a splendid 1700m² of winery was built in the heart of the Domaine:
an architectural gem that houses within technology treasures.
Indeed, to honor the origin of the name of the domain, and Magali Bertrand wanted to create a building wrapped in rusty walls.
Inside of it, not less than 54 stainless steel tanks and a huge barrel cellar were installed,
all in an unrivaled hygiene.
VINEYARD WAS DEDICATED TO 7 PRECIOUS GRAPES:
Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah for red and rosé wines.
Then Vermentino, Ugni Blanc and Semillon for whites.
Domaine du vine plots benefit from exposure and a soil that offer a perfect combination to produce appellation wines Côtes de Provence high quality. Oenological expertise combined with the latest innovations in wine production are used to produce light and tasty wines, appreciated by the most discerning palates.
Together Magali Bertrand LETARTRE and were able to continue the history of the vineyard ... both bold and conservatives, they managed to reveal the character of the area and its wines by affixing their signature ...
